PROTESTERS RALLY OUTSIDE OGERO IN TRIPOLI AGAINST DIRE LIVING CONDITIONS

A number of popular movement activists on Thursday gathered in front of Ogero in Tripoli against the country’s grim economic conditions. They protested the soaring US dollar price against the Lebanese pound, as well as Ogero’s decision to cut off the phone lines of those who have failed to pay their bills.

The angry protesters brandished banners demanding that citizens refrained from paying their bills to the state, and they chanted slogans against the government’s policy. They also stepped up calls for “accountability against the corrupt and the recovery of looted funds.”
